What does it mean for a study to be “multi-site"?

A multi-site study involves the implementation and execution of the same clinical protocol at two or more independent investigational sites, where study participants are seen for an intervention and/or outcomes assessment. Multiple sites may be from the same healthcare system, across multiple healthcare systems, or any alternate setting(s).
