PCORI defines a resubmission as an application that was not funded but did complete PCORI’s merit review process (i.e., the applicant received a summary statement). For research awards, PCORI does not limit the number of times an applicant may resubmit.
Note: Applicants who previously applied under either the Pragmatic Clinical Studies PFA (after Cycle 1 2021) or the Broad PFA and have received a summary statement from the prior submission are eligible to apply as a resubmitted application to the Broad Pragmatic Studies PFA. Applicants that applied to the BPS PFA in the 2022 funding cycle year and received a summary statement are also eligible to resubmit.
If an LOI/full application was deemed nonresponsive and did not progress through the merit review process (i.e., the applicant did not receive a summary statement), it is considered a new submission and requires submission of an LOI.
All resubmissions, unless otherwise specified, require resubmission of an LOI. Resubmitted LOIs should be responsive to previously received feedback.
