Each awardee is required to develop a mentorship program that focuses on investigators that are underrepresented in science (including, but not limited to people who are Black/African American, Hispanic/Latino/a, American Indian or Alaska Native, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander; LGBTQ+ individuals; people with disabilities; or women). Mentees are expected to be early-career researchers with doctoral degrees (e.g., MD, DDS, DMD, DO, DC, OD, ND, DVM, PharmD, or PhD in clinical or other relevant disciplines), for example in a post-doctoral fellowship or employed at the junior faculty or junior researcher level.
For mentorship, can it include postdoctoral fellows and early mid-career investigators from underrepresented groups?
