Who approves Open Competition: Implementation of Findings from PCORI’s Research Investments awards for funding?

After the panel meeting, PCORI program staff evaluate final merit review panel scores and comments, identify duplication or synergy among funded projects, and consider the fit of applications within the programmatic vision. PCORI program staff also consider the funds allotted for the current PFA when deciding which applications to recommend for funding to the Standing Selection Committee, which is a subcommittee of PCORI’s Board of Governors, and then the PCORI Executive Director for approval.
