PCORI Help Center

Does the Principal Investigator (PI) or Project Lead (PL) of the original PCORI project that made the tool or resource have to be included in the Capacity Building Engagement Award?

No. But the relevant copyright or other intellectual property rights owner must grant you rights to use the tool(s) or resource(s) needed to carry out the project. This permission must be given in the form of a written Letter of Support. If you are going to change that tool or resource, their Letter of Support must allow you to make those changes. PCORI will not help you contact PIs or PLs from the original PCORI award project team.

We want to fund projects that build on and use engaged and trained communities and stakeholders who are ready to take part in the patient-centered outcomes research/ comparative clinical effectiveness research (PCOR/CER) process. You must describe how you plan to use the chosen tool or resource to build capacity for PCOR/CER.
