PCORI Help Center

Are comparators aimed at preventing associated symptoms of migraines (such as recurrent gastrointestinal disturbance, benign paroxysmal vertigo, and benign paroxysmal torticollis) considered appropriate and responsive to this funding opportunity?

Comparators should address the treatment of migraine headache as their primary outcome(s). With this provison, subgroup or secondary outcome analyses addressing symptoms which can accompany migraine headache may be acceptable. There are some conditions that are associated with migraine but the focus is not on preventing these additional condtions. However, this proposed work may be considered responsive to PCORI's Broad Funding Announcement mechanism as the broad funding mechanism seeks investigator-initiated applications for patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) projects aligned with our priority areas for research.
