How is "nonspecific" low back pain being defined?

Nonspecific low back pain is defined for this PFA as low back pain without neurological signs or symptoms below the knees or abnormalities on imaging tests other than degenerative disc disease. Therefore, if the proposed study population includes patients with additional abnormalities on imaging beyond those indicative of degenerative disc disease (e.g., includes patients with herniated intervertebral disc, spinal stenosis, or spondylolisthesis), it would not meet the definition of nonspecific low back pain as described in this PFA.
