Does the Principal Investigator (PI) of the original PCORI research study have to be the PI of the implementation project?

No. The PI of the original PCORI research award might not be the best fit to lead an implementation project. The PI of the original PCORI-funded research project must furnish a Letter of Support (and list it in the Letters of Support Table) if he or she is not the proposed PI of the current application. If the organization submitting an application in response to this PFA is not the original PCORI awardee institution, then the PI of the original PCORI study – or another member of the original research team who played a significant role –must be involved as project personnel in the proposed implementation project.
