PCORI expects the studies to provide new comparative effectiveness evidence that is relevant to pregnant women with opioid use disorder (OUD) who receive care in community-based settings (urban and/or rural). Thus, the enrolled patient population should be representative of patients seen in such settings. While some women may need hospitalization for OUD treatment or other care, the focus of this announcement is comparison of office-based OUD treatment.
